Creation Day 6 (Genesis 1:24-31)
God creates all the creatures that live on dry land. This includes every type of creature not included on previous days and man. God declares this work good.
When God was creating man, He took counsel with Himself, “God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness’” (Genesis 1:26). This is not an explicit revelation of the trinity but is part of the foundation for such, as God reveals an “us” within the Godhead. God makes man, and man is made in the image of God (men and women both bear this image) and is special above all other creatures. To emphasize this, God places man in authority over the earth and over all the other creatures. God blesses man and commands him to reproduce, fill the earth and subdue it (bring it under the rightful stewardship of man as authorized by God). God announces that man and all other creatures are to eat plants alone. God will not rescind this dietary restriction until Genesis 9:3-4.
God’s creative work is complete at the end of the sixth day. The entire universe in all its beauty and perfection was fully formed in six literal, consecutive, 24-hour days. At the completion of His creation, God announces that it is very good.
(24 And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds—livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image,in the image of God he created him;male and female he created them.28 And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food. 30 And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. 31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.)
Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. Dark green is also commonly associated with money.Green has great healing power. It is the most restful color for the human eye; it can improve vision. Green suggests stability and endurance. Sometimes green denotes lack of experience; for example, a 'greenhorn' is a novice. In heraldry, green indicates growth and hope. Green, as opposed to red, means safety; it is the color of free passage in road traffic.
Use green to indicate safety when advertising drugs and medical products. Green is directly related to nature, so you can use it to promote 'green' products. Dull, darker green is commonly associated with money, the financial world, banking, and Wall Street.
Dark green is associated with ambition, greed, and jealousy.
Yellow-green can indicate sickness, cowardice, discord, and jealousy.
Aqua is associated with emotional healing and protection.
Olive green is the traditional color of peace.
THE FOURTH CHAKRA:
This chakra is ruled by Venus; it corresponds to the "heart". Your ability to love (both loving to others, and being able to recieve expressions of love from others) acts as a "FULCRUM" between the lower 3 chakras of self-wareness, and the upper 3 chakras of your awareness of yourself in response to others. This chakra of "balance" is the first place where we are able to recognize that there is more to life than meets the eye, and we are able to perceive higher, spiritual realms. In yogic texts, this chakra is noted as the "sound of one hand clapping". Think about it, when you express acts of love, you do so without the thought of reward. The "reward" is that your action made yourself and others feel good.
People who have suffered emotional hurts and woundings tend to block their 4TH Chakras. They are afraid to make themselves "vulnerable". This is a deliberate act of creating an "emotional wall" as a method of self-protection.
HOW TO STRENGTHEN YOUR 4TH CHAKRA: Sadly, we have ALL experienced the pain of being hurt, trashed, and beaten-up. One of my favorite sayings is by Gandhi: "The person who has experienced great pain and sorrow, is able to have more compassion for those who are suffering". A closed heart chakra is from too much self-absorption, self-focus, and self-pity. Get beyond yourself! Get involved with others. Volunteer at your church, or within a social organization that needs help. At this chakra level you need to become aware of the "vibrations, magnetism, or resonance" that you feel when you are around others. Spirit will begin to provide you with "synchronicities" that will attract or direct you to people or events that are beneficial for your evolution as a soul.
Venus: Planet Of Love And Money
Venus is all about pleasure, especially pleasure shared with someone else. This planet concerns itself with love, romance and harmony in our emotional attachments, marriages, friendships and other unions (like business partnerships). Venus is content to spread happiness and tenderness, all the while teaching us how to love and appreciate others and the things that we possess.
We appear attractive -- and we attract others -- thanks to Venus's energy. Socializing with and relating to others are important to this planet.
Beauty is also strongly associated with Venus. The arts (music, dance, drama and literature, to name a few) and a sense of the aesthetic fall within the realm of Venus. Venus beseeches us to indulge our senses and revel in the beauty of our world. This planet is inextricably linked to refinement, culture, charm and grace.
Venus also deals with the pleasure we derive from our possessions. Luxuries (jewelry, paintings, expensive cars), good food and drink, a beautiful home and a sense of refinement all please Venus's interests. This planet asks us to appreciate the exquisite nature of things. It's a sensual -- though not necessarily sexual -- world as far as Venus is concerned.
Venus takes 225 days to complete its orbit of the zodiac; it is never more than 47 degrees from the Sun. It is a feminine energy and rules both Taurus and Libra, and the Second and Seventh Houses.
A Prayer for Friday
Bone of our bones and flesh of our flesh, in deep love for our neighbour and for each of us, on this day of the week, You underwent the trials of this world and entered into the infinity of suffering that all humanity endures.
Open our consciousness to the anxiety of those near at hand and the plight of others who are far afield.
May You find in us, a voice to speak for the voiceless, a defender to bring comfort to the victimized, and an advocate for the powerless.
May we turn whatever skill You have lent us over to your Purposes.
Help us to free those imprisoned behind positions of power and politics, behind the steel bars of fear and public opinion, and behind the sealed doors of traditions and tombs.
Liberate us and raise us up into the great Commonwealth of your Church for your Glory and the good of all people. Amen.
